SIMOS Cares Joins Autism Awareness

It’s estimated that 1 in 44 children and 1 in 45 adults in the United States are affected by Autism. April is designated as Autism Awareness Month, aiming to educate people on this developmental disorder that affects so many people in so many different ways.

To help bring Autism awareness to northwestern Illinois, the SIMOS team joined forces with their warehouse customer to celebrate Autism Awareness Day at the Elwood, Ill., warehouse customer location.

Regional General Managers Tammy Mendoza and Kim Chambless set up a table with quotes and information and were available to speak with people all day regarding Autism and what people can do to support those with Autism.

Regional General Managers Tammy Mendoza and Kim Chambless set up a table with quotes and information and were available to speak with people all day regarding Autism and what people can do to support those with Autism. SIMOS associates and team members took pictures at the display and wrote messages to show their support throughout the day.

“The customer requested that the entire team wear blue to support Autism Awareness,” Mendoza said. “They set up an awesome area representing Autism with positive phrases throughout, like ‘You are SMARTER than you believe’; ‘Believe in yourself’; ‘It’s OK to be different’; and ‘The world needs all kinds of minds.’ “
